Wavemaker questions

Hello everyone! I need help on wavemakers. I have several questions unfortunately...lol. All questions are for a Innovative Marine SR80 AIO tank. Tank will be mixed reef with fish, anemone and possibly clam later down road.

1. Would 2x Ecotech MP40s be super overkill for the tank?
2. What is the difference between a Jebao GMP and DMP?
3. Are Jebao wavemakers capable of doing the clockwise/counterclockwise flow like the MP40s?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm having a hard time deciding on which ones would be best. I really don't want cables inside the tank this time if at all possible.

I don't think 2 MP40s is overkill at all.

Personally I've never had Jebaos so can't compare the two.

Thanks for reply! Are MP40s capable of being turned down to below 10% power if needed?

Technically they can be set to 1% in mobius though I've never left it there to see what they actually do.

I keep mine at about 80% all the time. I run 6 mp40s and have had 2 of them for 12 years with no issues, though I have exchanged the wet side assemblies

GMP is the newest generation (5th) in contrast to the earlier DMP.

I’m still running the old old versions on my SR-80, but I have wires in the water.

I’ll go GMP if they ever fail.
