Greetings everyone,
I ordered a reefer 750 XXL and would appreciate your feedback on which echotech wavemakers would be best? The store owner warned me that the glass thickness (19mm) would make it hard for the mp40s to hold. Should I just go for 2x MP60s? or would those be an overkill for a mixed reef?

Thank you!

2 MP60’s would work.
But for a ton less look at the Skimz SS18.0’s from BRS. For $120 you get a fully controllable DC pump that will sync wirelessly with up to 6 pumps and is 4755 gph each. I have 4 in my 600 gallon display and they move the water much better and further then the MP’s I had.

Thanks for the reply! These skimz wavemakers looks great but I am sold for the echotech because of the no-wires inside tank clean look !

I have the same tank and have MP40s and don’t seem to have any issues with them holding. Occasionally I’ll find one on the sand bed but usually that’s seem to mean they need a cleaning.

And @Bulk Reef Supply has 4 MP40s on their 750XXL (as well as 2 MP60s). Nothing wrong with going with MP60s if you want but just letting you know the MP40s will hold.

@Huff747 how many mp40s do you have? Do you think 2 will push enough water for SPS?

Thanks!

I have 4. I am not the guy to ask about pushing enough water as I haven't been at this long enough to say. I am happy with the growth I'm getting so far. BRS is using 2 MP60s and 4 MP40s.

Edit - They've only been in the 750 with the 4 MP40s for a few months. I had a 125 before that and recently upgraded. But they seem to really be starting to take off, the 750 has more flow than I had in the 125 and more lights because I rented a PAR meter and saw just how low the PAR was before.
