Weipro ozone generator. Can they be cleaned? Do they work?

I'm having a hard time figuring out how this thing works. I opened it up wanting to clean it as its been outside on my patio on a saltwater pond. When I opened it up I couldn't figure out how this thing works. It doesn't make sense to me. Is it a gimmick?

Hi
I think you should not disassembly whole unit just input output tile and you can clean if there is something moisture etc.. Then u return o ring and asemblly back

i think ozone reaction is between this outer tile with small pipes and backone with white circle sticker-like
