weird purple growth

I am new at this... 8 months into reefing. I found a weird dark purple growth on the underside of a neglected porites coral frag.

Thank you! Here is an orange version I found that looks similar after you gave me a name.
I kind of like it... I'll let it grow out and see what it does.
