Weird white spot spot on Duncan.
Fully open during the day. Noticed it while polyps blowing in flow. Got this photo while lights out. I've had polyps stung before and recovered. Never seen this before. Going to pull it out tomorrow to get a better look.

Any ideas what it could be or if actions should be taken. Some baby polyps growing and all others fully extended so don't care to stress it if it's just a thing. You can't even see it during the day.

Thanks
Jon

Almost looks like a piece of substrate or rubble that just landed there/got stuck. If that is not the case I am not really sure. . . could be that one head is bleaching/dying, though that is not really what it looks like to my eye. . . otherwise I am not sure.

Have you tried blowing it off the coral with a turkey baster/flow?

Thanks for the quick reply. Just spotted today. It almost did resemble some sand some how. Clarkii clowns love to throw it round. Does get pretty good by flow occasionally when the gyers alternate just right. Turkey baster didn't move it tonight though, from a few inches away, so figured I'd inquire.

Don't like putting my hands in after working night shift, they spend a lot of time in oil and grease. But am going to dig in tomorrow more as is low in a 24" tank.

Interesting was indeed a clump of calcified sand. Must of been in the center of the mini colony for a while as had to pry/break it out from between its skelton as it grew around it. Really shocked I didn't notice it before.

Happy reefin
