Any idea as to what’s going on with this Dragon Soul torch? This isn’t something I’ve seen before. Otherwise healthy torch is dropping what appears to be pieces of its skeleton or tissue. No noticeable brown jelly. The torch has been splitting so I’m not sure if the splitting could be related. We’ve had the torch approx 4ish months. Tank is ~8 months old, with no major swings apparent.

Ammonia - 0, Nitrites - 0, phosphate - 0.086 PPM, nitrates - 10 ppm. DKH-9.2, Cal-415, Mag-1479. Running AI Hydras for lighting. No other corals seem to be having an issue.

First photo is what the torch looks like when the tentacles are blown to where you can see the trunk. Second photo shows a what the torches generally look like from the top down.

Here’s also a video of what it looks like

That is strange looking. Don’t usually leave behind remnants when splitting. Did you sample it? Is it hard or soft? Looks almost like a big piece of food or shrimp that got partially digested and then puked it out.

I’m too short to be able to reach down into the tank with the canopy on to be able to touch it. I could try and see if my husband can reach down and feel it. It being a piece of shrimp could be likely as we did have 2 of our Skunk Cleaner Shrimp go missing over the last couple weeks. Whatever it is doesn’t seem to be affecting the torch too much as it looks mostly normal otherwise.
