I have hairy mushrooms that owned my hydno, but the hydno is fairly lethal to most everything else thats had the misfortune of getting too close. Personally id like to see the chalice live..

Ditto. The only reason I keep mine is because it is one of the first corals I obtained. Upkeep has been expensive considering battle mortality, but not as expensive as this battle (ouch).

Were you able to get the chalice away from the Hydno? I keep a Hydno in my tank, but it is really out there by itself and the only reason I keep it is that instead of being green, it's blue... Good luck with your poor chalice, but don't give up hope. This chalice was dead as a door nail (I thought) due to a close encounter with a RBTA that split while I was on vacation. I couldn't see any flesh at all. Instead of throwing it away, I chucked it into my fuge....6 months later, I see this....don't know what it's going to be after it's "close encounter with a RBTA" but I've moved it up into my display tank an I'll see...

WINNER!!!! Tyree Alien Eye Chalice!!

Well guys if you guys bet some money pay up. The chalice demolished the poor Hydnopora. I was surprised myself!!!

I kinda wished the chalice lossed the fight as the Hydnopora was a nice piece. Oh well it'll heal over time.

Ah hah. Should have known by you posing the question. But I just couldn't imagine it happening. That's a first for me. Thanks for the challenge.
