Well my Hydnopora and Tyree alien eye chalice decided to fight!!!

Haha yeah when i first saw it i thought the hydnopora was peeling the flesh off the chalice. They have fought before but both always recover the next day but i guess this time they had a big argument. haha

Thats a Hydno?!?! i have one but where i got it from they said it was a "carpet coral"... and didnt know chalices can have sweepers like that

Hydnopora is a sps coral. There are 2 types. An encrusting one and a branching one. They are not chalices at all. Even though they are sps they are pretty fleshy.

I have a highlighter green hydno and its takes out everything.


Also i noticed that if i touch it some of the green color comes off onto my hands. Kind of like when you break a glow stick.

Pretty crazy.

I have a blue morph and I got a small frag from a friend and stuck it in the corner, near the over flow and up high and it has grown to about 5 inches tall, multiple branches and is blue, not doubt about it. I don't know where my friend got it from.

See i thought it was LPS too as it's way to fleshy for sps but everyone tells me it's sps. It even looks LPS to me and i feed it too. It goobles down mysis shrimp.
