I’ve had the plate coral for around 2-3 weeks. But have just started to notice parts of it flaking away.

what could cause this and is there anything I can do to help it?

my parameters as of yesterday are:

Alkalinity: 7.9
Ammonia: 0.15
Calcium: 475
Magnesium: 1370
Nitrate: 10
Nitrite: 0.1
Phosphate: 0.25

the corals get fed daily with redsea AB+

You might try a coral dip. Just FYI it may have had a problem before you ever got it. If possible find out what lighting it was grown under. Stress in animals can be cumulative and it can take weeks or longer for a problem to become apparent. It's not often possible but whenever possible I try to match conditions an animal grew in.

I had a similar reaction to one I picked up and placed in what I thought was medium to low like
Moved it into shape (sub 100 par) and its making a good comeback - N of 1
