What’s happening to my Monti

My mystic sunset Monti was doing fenomenal until one morning I check on the tank and it looks like this

My parameters are ok 400 calc 10 alk 5 nitrate and .25 phosphate. I think it started to happen after I cut up an unknown zoa colony (cause it was ugly and I didn’t like it). Everything else in the tank is doing good, all the rest of the sps are perfect. Can anyone help me figure out what it is and what I can do.. the part that is attached to the rock off the plug still has its color and doing fine.

My guess would be something from the zoas, or possibly something that was on your skin that has upset it. I would run some fresh carbon or do a water change first and see what that does.

I actually did that that morning when I found it like that. But nothing.

It may take a little while for it to bounce back. As long as things don't continue to go downhill, it should eventually bounce back.

But if tissue continues to recede, it may be a good idea to frag and dip what you have left and start again. I would use something like Coral ReVive
