I purchased this Acan a few months ago... and it was gorgeous! But it has seemed to deteriorate the last few months. And it probably didn’t help anything when we had that snow storm in Texas abs lost power for almost a week...But even before that it was t looking great. I moved it down to the sand and it looked a little bit better... I’ve tested my water and noticed my PH was a little low, so I added some buffer... it’s been about a month since I fixed that with no change in my coral. I’ve also been adding Coral up and coral accel. My other corals are looking good, I’m just not sure what else I can do.

for starters , elevate off the sand which will irritate it. Moderate light and water flow. This is a palythoa (like a zoa - Not Acan)

Temp 77-79
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.025
nitrate < .4
phos < .04
Ammonia < .03

yeah; that’s not a paly...
it’s an acan.

moderate light and flow,
preferably t5 lighting if you’d like to keep the intricate patterns

It looks fairly healthy to me although but blurry pic. Has it shrunk? Do you feed it?

Pretty sure that the OP is correct that looks like an acan to me. Just completely open.
Do you know what would cause it to be completely open? I moved it off of the sand and onto a low ro

It has shrunk, it’s about a third of the size that it was when I got it... however some of the color has started to come back. I try to feed it as much as possible, but I have a cleaner shrimp that has made a habit out of stealing food from the corals.
