does anyone know what these are made of? i have used two that came with the coral tree kits. they are very light and very strong/ridged. i am going to be making my own scape and want to use rods. i have found nothing comparable locally. i did an a.i. search and is says its made of acrylic but i just do not belive that to be correct. i would just use their rods but the are 1/2 diameter and i need 3/8. i been looking at these but i would have to cut to length. not sure they would be reef safe after that

thanks
shane

Those would work fine as would acrylic rods.. fiberglass is stronger thou! The fiberglass shouldn’t leach anything.. if you’re really worried about it a dab of silicone on your cuts would seal everything back up.!

I believe they are actually polycarbonate, but don't quote me.
Yes there’s that also.. a little more flimsy but won’t crack or break.
