i have had one clam and i dont know what it was i think it was a maxma gold and it got nocked over and died so i was looking at getting some more and what i need to take care of them thanks for the help.

First time clam owner here. I've had my T. Crocea for almost 3yrs. 11" under my 4x 24w T5HO's Have it sitting on a half clam shell. Have never had any issues with it at all. Was 3" when I bought it and today it's about 6" :)

that's awesome do you have a controller and doseing pumps on your system i am manualy doseing everything right now and dose it matter?

what is good lighting for clams? i know my lighting is not the best but it all i got i have a 48 inch 6 bulb t5 ho. will that be enough light to raise a clam and be healthy?

I do 5 1/2g wc every 10-14 days. I hated daily dosing so I switched to Kalkwasser in my 5g ATO. Love it! No other dosing at all. Keep your Ca/Alk stable.
Of course placement of your clam depends on your lights. The stronger the lighting the lower you can keep your clam. With T5HO I suggest like mine, mid level or higher.
