Will try and host a duncan or torches? It will be a single clown. I've read some articles this could happen. The kids really want one, so I will have to break down and get one, I guess. Now, if it comes down to my torches, then the torches will stay every time. Thoughts or experience with this?

Put it an an acclimation box with a Duncan and it should work. I'd avoid torches, those are too temperamental to want to have a violent clownfish hosting.

It just depends on the clown, but mine love my duncans and gonis

While clownfish are traditionally connected with an anemones, that is not always what they choose as a host. I have seen a clownfish choose many, many things for a host, including a rock.

They could use anything as a host. Depends on availability. A coral, a heater, a nem, no way to know.
I’d go for it for the kids….

Clowns can interfere with some corals photosynthetic processes. Can the coral die?
Sure. That’s the risk we all take.
