What are the most important features to look for in a Sump ?

You could make some nice Refugiums with those. Here is one Video you like but if go to YouTube and type in Julian Sprung there are many more.


Sprung's sump under that huge display tank has to be the hardest-to-reach sump I have ever seen!

Do you all think black plastic tubs designed for horses would be reef-safe? I picked one up from Tractor Supply. I cannot find what the plastic composition is. It is a rubberized plastic:

I enjoyed seeing the tank of one of the reefing gurus - and it is messier than mine under the tank. :) I love his tank and that it is a realistic looking reef with mostly common corals and fish. Very refreshing to see.

Many people use those black tubs for sumps, holding tanks or frag tanks, so yes, they are fine to use.
