What are your thoughts on recirculating skimmers vs regular skimmers?

I inherited a deltec skimmer that I absolutely loved to death. Sadly it’s cracked and cracked and cracked and even though I have used all the right glue it keeps leaking. I know I need to get another and I don’t think it’s worth spending that much for another deltec but it’s so much better than the other 1 pump skimmers I used years ago. However those skimmers were all the absolute cheapest possible out there.

So what are your favorite skimmers recirculating and regular. Do you think it’s worth getting a recirculating skimmer?

I've only used a handful of skimmers over the years but my favorite has been Reef Octopus. Easiest I ever had to dial in and it stayed dialed in.
