Setting up 60g deep blue frag tank with a herbie overflow, in the corner. What are you using for your overflow bulkheads, and what is the best?

Slip x Slip
Slip x Thread
Thread x Thread
Thread x Slip

If slip x slip, are you pvc glueing/cementing top and bottom into the bulkhead?

inside the tank/overflow box and just "dry fit" the drain pipes. When I did my tank transfer earlier this year, I had a TINY trickle (down the drain) when the return pump was off, but the normal buildup of crud quickly sealed this.

Thread underneath the tank so that plumbing can be fully disassembled/ removed from the bottom of the tank if needed. I used the product below which was cheaper than Rectorseal's version, but is the same stuff. DO NOT use Teflon tape!

Then I glued the rest of my drain lines, and included a union on each one.

I used slip-slip then glued a union below the box, leaving 2" of pipe below bulkheads in case I need to redo something in the future.

I wasnt comfortable with anything threaded and the possibility of splitting the threads.

To answer the other part of the question, I didn't glue the pipes inside the box; they just slipped in.

But what happens if you need to move the tank? You can't set it flat on anything... unless you place the tank on its back (or front)

I leave 2" section of pipe between bulkhead and union, one can still cut it and re-glue as needed.

I have above on external boxes so no issue either way.

I also did slip x thread with the threaded portion below the tank. I was going to go sip x slip, but discovered that the unions I had would not fit through the holes in the tank. This way I can uncouple the unions, and unscrew the portions in the bulkhead if I have to disassemble the tank.

Similar to above slip x threaded then use a nipple to a threaded x slip union. I like the Megaloc sealant

Ah, I see. Yes, my recommendation for a threaded bottom is for an internal overflow.
