So I’m dosing Kalkwasser and AFR. Kalkwasser same batch for last 2 weeks. Nothings changed in the past month. But all of a sudden I’m getting an Alkalinity spike. What can be the cause of this?

did you use anything to try and verify spike? It could be both were dosed simultaneously or afr was dosed at a higher rate then normal.

It’s climbing so I lean towards the increase is Kalk dosing.
Stop and see if it falls.

Yeah I’m going to check it with my Hanna tomorrow. Everything’s scheduled with the Neptune QD so I’m hoping everything there is consistent

There is some reporting that when the alk reagent is about gone readings swing a lot.

What does your pH look like during this same time?

When it's nice out and windows are open pH is higher, which also increases alk consumption. On the flip side when windows are closed, and pH is lower alk consumption decreases as well.
