Hey everyone. I found these two crabs in my tbs live rock order. Does anyone know what they are and if they're reef safe? thank you.

I think they are gorilla crabs. Sump them. You can check their website to verify. They have a photo ID list of potential hitch hikers postes there.

The first one is a ruby mithrax. Note blunt claws. TBS Hitchhikers
They are naturals at keeping live rock clean and will not bother your clean up crew / fish.

The second one does not look like a gorilla. Please provide better photo, we are happy to assist.

Do my eyes deceive me, or did you get a lucky pitho crab?

"It is definitely in the Mithracidae family (mithrax, pithos and decorator crabs), so probably similar behavior." - J

If these are recent additions, just wait and watch for all the exciting and interesting critters that will emerge. We've been so excited about the hitchhikers that have shown up! In the last month, 2 crabs, filter feeders w wide flat blunt claws have been seen..daughter nickname them Bonnie and Clyde !
