I drilled the frag tank and got 90 percent of the plumbing done for the chiller and frag tank feed and drain.

Had to add a chiller to my 120... this will be temporary as I usually keep the house cool enough. But..... My AC decided to take a dump a couple days ago and I have been hovering around 88° in the 120. The house was actually 92° yesterday...
Fortunately the 240 already has a chiller plumbed in..
Having heat wave after heat wave here in Southern California is gonna wreak havoc on my electric bill, but... Ya gotta do what ya gotta do....

Today was water change day... Also had a fellow SCMAS clubmember over who got half a dozen frags. While chatting, he asked me what my ALK was. Had no idea so I checked. 8.1 guess I got the Calcium reactor dialed properly....

Today was the day I hacked the bajeezuz out of a huge colony that had just gotten too big. Shame to do it, but the middle was starting to die due to no flow because of the size of the colony...
Now I just have to have the gumpshun to get after a few others that have just gotten to big...

After

There is actually a lot more, but it's kinda all over the place at the moment...

Today I added some new shells for some of my hermit crabs, and added a nylon stocking with a hunk of fish in it to try to catch some bristle worms. If it doesn't work tomorrow I'll make a water bottle trap.

Apparently today was clean everything that I have been neglecting day.
I citric acid soaked:
(2) MP 60
(3) MP 40
Skimmer pump
Also did water changes on both tanks
Replace the blade on both Flippers
Cleaned the skimmers
Cleaned the overflow on the 240
Did some tests and tweaked the Calcium Reactor setup just a bit because apparently my corals are having a growth spurt.... Again...
Made a mess of my garage floor moving water between mixing barrels.
Decided the Coraline is just to thick on the returns to clean em.
And watched my Ducks FINALLY get a win...

I'd say that was a productive evening...

What brand of citric acid do you use / recommend? I would like to do the same.

This was actually late last night but I finished after midnight so technically today

Set my feed modes on my apex up

Feed A - automatically changes out 1/2 gallon of water in the tank (I’m going to up this to 1 gallon at a time but I wanted to start small)
Feed B - automatically adds 1 gallon of RODI to my ATO reservoir
Feed C - turns off the return, skimmer and ATO for broadcast feeding when I want the in tank pumps running
Feed D - turns off the return, skimmer, ATO, gyres and vortechs off for spot feeding and for taking pictures and par readings

I do wish apex would let you rename the modes or add labels so I don’t forget which is which

Why add them to saltwater?
A lot of (well, some) freshwater fish are fresh then brackish durring breeding season as they migrate toward the ocean. Some go as far out as to completely acclimate to oceanic conditions. In order to get many FW fish to breed raising water temp, salinity, and increasing water flow does the trick. Then some are just all around brackish and can thrive in a SW tank with lower specific gravity. At least this has been my experience.

Thanks for this!
I was curious on how / what I would use my profilux feed modes for and this is perfect.

No prob, i’m guessing the profilux is similar to the apex where the feed button is really just a switch that can be programmed to do anything you want
