I have heard of tabling acropora. But I was reading upon my Ora blue milli and it said as it ages it can table. I thought tabling acropora was a particular type of acropora or us it a growth form. What does it mean?

It's in reference to the growth pattern.

like mentioned above tabling is just an acropora growth pattern, usually branches grow all about the same height & the colony extends laterally rather than vertically....

not my pic btw

Thanks that makes sense. I wonder if water movement causes it to happen. I have seen photos of what I now know is tabling growth acropora. Kinda cool it you need to to shade some LPS. I now use monti cap but I always have to break chunks off it gets too shadey. Acropora does not grow as fast or as dense.

the tabling growth is much like a monti cap, and in the wild they can grow HUGE. I would like to see a tank with tabling acros over 10 years old... that would be sweet.
