Meyers butterfly or orange spot filefish. If I had time and room for a second sps tank, I would definitely sacrifice some coral to keep either of those.
They don’t actually eat the coral, just the mucus from the polyps. I’ve currently got 4, 3 males and a female. I’ve had the males for 8 months and the female about 3 months. They all eat everything. I was able to get all of them eating Masstick on the day they arrived. I also feed them Panta Rhei Polyp and Panta Rhei Sponge pellets designed specifically for coralivores. They eat mysis and pretty much any frozen food or pellet they can fit in their mouths. They are actually really hearty fish as long as they’re eating.

For me, it would either be a quoyi parrotfish or a crosshatch trigger. Just not a big enough tank...

That, or a golden dwarf moray. Curse you, Hawaii...

a group of Pseudanthias ventralis. hard to find and too expensive when I do see them unfortunately.

Figuring out the why: Has your primary reason(s) for keeping a saltwater aquarium changed over time?
