I made an egg crate box to rehab an anemone
Just egg crate and a lot of zip ties
I also made an isolation chamber to rehab a snail.
Anyone have a fish trap diy that's not the 'inverted bottle'?
Did you cut the acrylic yourself? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm not familiar with any of this lol)
Finished the fan tray today. It turned out pretty well and I think it's going to do the job. The fans are dead silent and move tons of air. I attached them with little rubber feet so you don't hear any vibration. Here are the fans I used: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black) - Newegg.com
I still need to solder the power wires together and heat seal them.
Here's a pic from the top:
I added rails on the bottom to prevent the acrylic from bowing over time.
Here are some pics of it sitting on the sump with my new skimmer in place
There's just enough room to slide the tray to the right and remove the socks.
Btw, if you're using a hole saw to cut acrylic, it works much better if you run the drill in reverse. The bit will chip away the acrylic and it doesn't over heat your drill. It worked perfectly! Not as clean as a cut with a router, but it did the job considering the holes will be covered up.
Is not exactly a trap and it takes a long time to do it, but a mate of mine used a big plastic colander as a "feeding tool". He attached nori to the inside and after a while the fish trusted it enough to swim right in it. After they were in, he just pulled the colander out with the fish inside
