Unless we have goals we don't have anything to "shoot" for right!?

I saw this post from member @JoJosReef that listed out all the goals for the week and thought it was a great idea! Plus I thought it would be neat if you shared some of your weekly goals!

Also important to know that it seems as if setting goals is working out pretty well for @JoJosReef!

Saw this and giving a bump

Weekly goals are make sure no corals need to be rearranged due to growth

Look for ways to fit more coral

Top off water

Add all for reef

Empty scrubber

Test various parameters if anything looks off

Usually once a week, like this morning I go out to the beach hunting amphipods. I dump them in my tank and the fish are smiling. It's like a circus in their mouth. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
They are not in season yet so it has been disappointing. But I get some small ones, not the thousands that I want yet.

Besides that, I have no other weekly goals.

I just do the maintenance and leave the tanks be. The goal is to just keep everything stable. But something always happens regardless of my best efforts. That’s what reefing is all about, imo. Controlling the chaos. Lol.

Weekly: Keep the glass clean so that my wife and friends and family can see it at its best.
Protein Skimmer cup cleaned out. (That reminds me).
Observe certain corals that are growing faster than others.
Check my food supply.

I wouldn’t call them goals—rather scheduled tasks. I have a maintenance schedule that includes general cleanup, water change and certain periodic needs (e.g. pump/powerhead maintenance, refugium cleanup, etc). My general goal is to provide an environment conducive to the health of the tank.

Right now in the introductory phases of coral life and the system going thru that shock.

My goal is to have the tank survive the week

Eradicate the aiptasia I saw stinging my acan (done thanks Joe’s juice)

And start working on plans for improving water clarity further

To remember that it is the end of the week. I work every third weekend now so sometimes I forget to check the ATO which generally needs filling by the weekend. The other weekend tasks like WC/fill doser/clean skimmer are usually every other weekend.

Goals equal planning and planning is work let alone the work required to implement the plan. I am allergic.

Many of you are preventative, organized and methodical....

Reefing the BeanAnimal way:

"Ohh the tank looks nice today, yay for me"

"Ohh that's bad (Homer Simpson brain animation) do I need to handle it now or should I eat more bacon and look again tomorrow to see if it fixed itself?"
