I use a pile of the finnex titanium heaters in one tank and a jager glass heater in another.

Glad to hear that at least TWO people have used and like the Via Aqua titanium, that is what I have getting ready to come to me for my tank.

I have used the EBO Jager heaters for years with out a failure. I just replace them after they are 2 or so years old.

I highly recommend, whatever heater you use,to plug them into a controller and let it tell them when to turn on and off,I have my heaters set to 80 degrees and my controller is set to 78 degrees, this works great for me.....

I trust my AC Jr. controller much more the the thermostat on the heaters, but if for some reason it doesn't turn 'em off they should shut themselves off before getting the tank too hot.....hopefully :)

not sure of the name they are titanium tube type and run off the Reefkeeper i keep them set at 80 and the controller set at 78 to turn off in case something happens to my controller like the probe going bad or taken out of the tank etc.. hopefully the heater would shut off at 80 so far no issues 4th year running..

At this rate I think I am going to stick with something controlling the heater. Either the Ranco or an aquarium controller like the new Apex Jr.! Ha I wish... maybe soemtime in the near future.

Good choice. Even though it sounds expensive, imagine how expensive it would be if yours broke and you had to replace all of your coral and fish.

the reef keeper lite is only 100 dollars or so, and now apex has that apex jr controller coming out thats 150 dollars, you can find used RKL all day long. i won mine in a raffle and going to use it primary for keeping the heater from wiping my new tank out. but for less than 150 dollars to have something thats a great fail safe and plus it comes with timers for lights and all kinds of neat stuff is a awesome deal. in my opinion everyone should have a controller. 150 dollars vs losing months to years of livestock and coral is a no brainer. i use a jager heater

I've used Ebo Jager for years, but with the new tank I'm using Eheim Jager. Eheim owns that company now. I have 2 300w heaters that are triggered on and off by an AquaController 3. If they can't keep up this winter, I'll add a third one that I have stashed away.
