My rose bubble tip anomie was sleeping last night when we saw this?

Any ideas? Any guesses?

BTW it split a month ago and is not hosting.

I'm not seeing any pictures

Tough to really see what's going on. Could be several things:
  1. Do you have shrimp in your tank, and are you missing any? If so, the anemone might've eaten it and what we're seeing is an antennae or other part of the shrimp that it wasn't able to digest and it's expelling it.

  2. Any missing fish? Could be the same as #1.

  3. Could be some sort of parasite, but I highly doubt it.

  4. As @Kasrift mentioned, it could be something it ingested, like a bristleworm or micro star, or other type of worm like a featherduster or vermetid snail.

  5. It might be a mesenterial filament but that assumes that something is wrong with the anemone, and it looks fine.

My Bta balls up sometimes and will have a tentacle or 2 reaching out. It does it at night sometimes and after it ate a mushroom coral that floated into its mouth then balled up for a couple days. However, it's hard to say because it really just looks like a tentacle reaching out to me. At least from what I'm looking at. Maybe someone else will see something different.
