Could an emerald crab do this? I’m confident this is not a water quality issue, because all other inhabitants are happy and this coral was completely fine when I went to bed. Inhabitant list is below. I also have this coral about 6 inches below the water line with kessil ap9x 10 inches above the water line, so maybe too much light but I’m doubting that would cause such significant damage literally overnight.

-2x emerald crabs one large male one smaller female (not confirmed, just assuming due to their size and temperament given they are the same age)
-numerous small “reef safe” hermits
-2x skunk cleaner shrimp
-1x peppermint shrimp
-1x bubble tip anemone (happily located far away from this coral)
-2x occ clowns
-1x coral beauty Angel (never witnessed any signs of coral bothering)
-1x saltwater molly
-1x six line wrasse
-numerous snails (turbo, cerith, nassarius, Nettie)

For anyone interested, I caught the emerald crab in the act of eating my Acan frag flesh. Don’t trust these little %#*!ers!

Every Peppermint Shrimp I’ve ever owned also munched coral. Almost always LPS. Keep an eye on them as well.
