How new is your tank? Full tank pics? How did you cycle and how long since completion? What type of lights are you running?

The tank cycled in June with mysis shrimp and about a month ago the display tank started running cooler and I had a bad case of ich that killed 10 fish. It has now stabilized using metroplex, focus, garlic and vitamin c. I had about 3 weeks of diatom algae and I gave a dose of vibrant and it’s clearing up. i have a 48in coralife aqua lite with a mixture of 10000k, actinic and tri chromatic tri bulbs plus a fluvial 36in Marine LED.

I would bet that light combo is less then 150 par. That is probably part of the issue. Vibrant could be another. I am pretty sure metroplex is not invert safe corals are inverts. there is a lot going on here that could and probably would cause this. Which one did it? was it a combo of all of it? Hard to say.

Not true. Many many sps tanks have high nitrates. Mine is in the 60s

I agree. This isnt parameter related....well maybe alk but I dont have the bandwidth atm to do the math into a number I understand. I think at a glance that may be a bit low but unless it was a sudden change still no.

Unfortunately it appears to be RTN/STN (definitely not bleaching) and most likely caused by all the stuff you are dosing.....primarily the Vibrant. I personally would lower your nitrates (what are your phosphates sitting at?) but that wouldn't cause RTN.

I am a little surprised that quite a few are pointing just at Vibrant. (not really) Am I wrong about metroplex being not safe for inverts? I am pretty sure I am right.
