I spent a couple thousands on berghia, peppermint shrimp from all sources available etc.

Finally got a CBB a few months ago. I got him to eat mysis and then only fed him once every few days.

He wiped out aptasia. I didn’t read all the comments. But starve the tank a little.

I wish I would have went the CBB route long ago.

Rarely do i see copperbands eat aptasia however I can assure the effectiveness of a Kleini Butterfly BUT must be the bluehead- NOT the yellow version. The yellow will go after coral too but bluehead as pictured will eat aptasia like candy, then eat all dry and frozen food offered, colorful, friendly and stays small. I will note that a couple of persons who got the blue had their kleini nip zoa. if so- easy sell, or place in sump as aptasia have likely made it down there already

I looked at these too but LFS had the CB in stock. Maybe my tank just isn't agreeing with him. I'm probably going to bring him back to the LFS.

My CBB didn't even look at aiptasia for a good couple of weeks. After a month, I've seen less of them and then one day, nada. Just give it time as it gets acquainted with the tank and inhabitants. I now feed frozen and live pods to keep my CBB happy.

I had a huge one and it was gobbled up. Just give it time. Dont feed for a while when it gets acquainted with the tank (acclimate for a month or so).

If you have aiptasia PLEASE buy a few peppermint shrimp from ReefTopia online. They are coral safe (I bought 2 different batches) and they decimated all my aiptasia in 1 week.

M copperband never touched them. Initially only ate live black worms, but then did clams and eventually all frozen foods.

I had a tank that was covered with majano nems. A raccoon butterfly wiped them out, but also ate all my zoas. And was a bully to the copperband.

Then I tried a file fish and by god is he ugly, but I am aiptasia free. And he’s a very good boy.

I watched him for a month at the LFS and all I saw him eat was clams and that's all he's nibbled for me so far.

Not that I’ve noticed so far. I try to keep him well fed.
