What is going on here?

I’ve been dealing with stn, recession spotchy areas that are dying for months
I’m curious what people here feel is going on?
Pests, bacterial, lighting ect.
Here are some pictures.
System has been up for 5 years.

Some of it looks like shading but not ruling out bacteria either. Have you done recently ICP testbto check everything? Have you checked all equipment for rusty parts?

I figured people would want an ICP but I also included a Aquabiomics report in case bacterial.
Both came back pretty clean.
I figure if it was a rusting issue wouldn’t that appear on ICP?

Strange thing is some coral are affected others seem fine.
One pice is suffering badly…a coral next to it is growing well. Very strange.

I have something similar going on. I do have high phosphates though. I have an ICP going out tomorrow to make sure it isn't heavy metals. Maybe it is something bacterial. Watching here with you, solidarity brother!

Some of your corals are quite big, a 5 year old tank is usually quite stable in terms of water chemistry.

The more those Acros grow, the more light intensity is required. Have you ever increased light as your frags grew?

What type of lighting?

Any idea on PAR?

Nitrate at 20ppm may contribute to some small amounts of a green algae appearing on some corals. Maybe trim that with water change and run 5-10ppm.

The very bottom branches of the Rainbow Loom is very normal, no polyps, smooth….yellow ish, maybe some white.

So par is around 500 top 300ish bottom.
Lightning consists of 5 Phillip Coral cares, plus Quanta Reefcrest strips plus Quanta Blue strips.
The system doesn’t perform well with lower nitrates. It gets dicey below 10 nitrates and 15 even seems to be on the edge. There is a lot of coral demand so I keep it a tad higher.
Weekly 10% water changes plus I dose daily NeoNitro to keep nitrate and phosphate levels steady.
I have debated flow but the system rums a Panta Rhei ecm 63 plus 6 Nero 7’s all pulsing at 100%.
These dead spots continue to show up.

It appears on numerous species that are not shaded.
