Sorry if this answer is easily found elsewhere I searched but couldn’t find an answer. Got home from work and my hammer coral is doing this.

Hammer has been in this spot for about 3 weeks and fully opens every night, moderate lighting, moderate flow. All params are in check.

It’s usually closed up when I come home from work because of the lack of light but what is this extra skin like thing doing around both heads?

Looks normal to me.

The white stuff under the green bits is bone.might have a layer of flesh on it. It’s that the skin you mean?

Its growing branches. That skin is how it deposits minerals that harden and gow upwards.

Okay great! Thank you for the answer. That’s what I assumed when I saw it but I’ve learned to just kinda assume the worst in this hobby so far, lol.
