I want to sell this Derasa clam that I got a gift about a year ago. I have no Idea what price to ask for it. What do they go for at this size?

Guesstimate of 9 inches. Live in WA

$50.

Other than gigas and blue squamosa, larger clams are worth less and usually harder to sell than smaller ones. I usually cannot get enough to replace a Derasa when I sell a 8-10 inch one. Your market is not large since they need a lot of room. Most people also do not understand how much calcium and alk these can take and lots do not have a dosing system or CaRx that can keep them alive. If you add up the small pool of people who can both keep the clam and keep it alive, then most of them are not willing to pay that much for one. Blue Squamosa is an exception to this. Gigas used to be, but I have not had one in years since they are nary available anymore. Rare colors and morphs are also exceptions - true green, true purple and teardrop maximas can fetch a pretty penny with larger sizes.
