What is my nem doing?

Ok BTA experts. This newbie needs some help. I got a green BTA yesterday from my LFS. Its been pretty happy trying to find the perfect spot in the tank. But now its got me confused.

Is my nem pooping, splitting, being a drama queen, all of the above, or dying?

Here is what it looked like before it started deflating:

that is splitting, I bet my life on it. The fact that it developed a second mouth gives it away. It should finish up overnight and heal back completely in a few days.

My rainbow BTA just split last night for the first time. It's been in the tank for about 6 months. The fact that yours is showing two mouths, I'd bet it's gonna split soon.

Do not disturb it. Looks like split which is already low level stress on it

I am doing everything I can to keep it happy and healthy I will keep everyone posted. You have to love nature and all of its unexpected and fascinating abilities. So cool to witness and observe such beauty!

It does look like it MIGHT be splitting. But it’s good to have more than one anemone to compare in the system. If your other anemone look good, don’t make any rash changes. Keep observing and keep an eye on what’s doing what in your system. Don’t make a snap decision to change. I have 7 anemone, some days one or two look mad or bad, and the others look great. A couple days later all look fine, and I test and see a level that was low, make an adjustment, and a couple days after all look good. Sometimes, that particular anemone just had a bad day like we do lol. For mine, a couple are calcium dependent, some are KH dependent. When one goes down, test and make a SLOW change. It’s nice to have more than one, with different sensitivities, gives you a fore warning sometimes. Having more than one nem is like having a canary in the coal mine, some are more sensitive than others. Keep an eye, make adjustments and try your best to keep things where they need to be. It should get happy again, hopefully, if you want a split? Hope it splits. :)

Thank you Taylor for the information! It's really helpful. I did do a small water change today because it was time for it. And this morning I fed everyone mysis and the nem didn't want anything to do with it. My other BTA couldn't get enough, like usual
