I guess if we’re going with what the hobby calls Fungia then I’ll vote that but if we’re going with what the true Fungia is I’d say cycloseris would win my vote.
Yes, there are too many "fungia" species in this hobby. Fungia as in the slightly dome shaped single polyp coral, and Cycloseris as Cycloseris

I would recommend putting what you were originally calling "Fragile Fungia" as "Diaseris" or "ex-Diaseris species" instead of Cycloseris. Even though Diaseris is an unaccepted name, it is more specific to the species you are talking about; using "Cycloseris" could lead to misunderstandings, as Cycloseris includes more than just the ex-Diaseris species, and actually includes most of what we hobbyists call "Fungia."

Candy canes are Caulastraea furcata, Trumpets are Astraeosmilia curvata
