In the new house, I'm finally getting a home office! I want to set up a nano tank in the office. I'm thinking I'd probably put it on my desk. Here's a pic of my desk (pic is from Amazon...I've still got to put it together).

Don't you guys think a nano tank would go nicely on there?? I'm thinking something big enough for a clown pair and a nice BTA. Maybe a few zoas or acans...nothing too wild. What size tank would you get? How would you set it up?

I would go with a Fusion Peninsula 14 or 20, preferribly the 20. Great for viewing on multiple sides. A bit of a pain in the butt to light but a A360 or Prime 16/32 should work nicely. Heck even an orphek bar or two. Lots of options and bonus, everything is on sale right now!

You definitely want an AIO with a lid. You don't want a bunch of ugly filter equip hanging off and you would want a top to reduce water spillage.

I would not want a tank bigger than 15-16 inches in any direction if it's on a desk as I think they just looks too big.

I like this idea to have a separate little stand off to the side of your desk. Maybe behind the light against the wall there. Could open so many more possibilities with hiding sump/equipment in the stand. Could even do a rimless 16g cube or something then since you wouldn't have to worry as much about water splashing out occasionally.

This was a little slant-nose 7-gallon AIO that sat right on my desk on a little neoprene type mat, lit by a Kessil A80. I think it was from LifeGuard Aquatics. It was ‘just big enough.’

I would do a 5g with some tiny inverts and gobies but since you want a clown pair then a IM 10g or Fluval 13g or such would work nice.

I bought an IM Fusion Pro 10 for my 4 ft long study desk. The Cube dimensions fit perfectly In the corner against my bookshelf.

It’s a home office so why restrict yourself to a desk tank? Make something for your office, I did. I went with an E-170, easy to care for.

if i had the choice, I would go with the waterbox cube 10. It has a sump and everything and would look good on the desk.
