I currently am running a quarantine tank for corals and am wondering what is the best way to spot pests on coral ex. eggs or flatworms or red bugs? The corals all look good in the quarantine tank but I am afraid I will miss something.

Do I just observe & look for signs of stress or bite marks.
Are people taking corals out to inspect with a magnifying glass?

I dip before going into quarantine and before going into main display tank.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

I have a jewelers loupe but I have to be very close to the coral for it to be clear.
I have the big tank magnifying glass, I think it is 1.5x which is nice but not close enough. haha.

I have a +30 diopter lens I use for looking over corals in my quarantine tank. It magnifies everything but requires me to be very close to the coral due to the focal distance. I also have a +20 diopter lens but haven't used it yet.

I also dip before going into the quarantine tank with Coral Rx. LPS also get a dip in a peroxide/water mix and occasionally a quick freshwater dip. SPS don't seem to like peroxide...melted a beautiful setosa attempting it... never again with SPS!

Thank you all.
It is nice to hear everyone's method to find unwanted pests.
It would be pointless to run a quarantine tank and miss all signs of anything bad. haha ;Wacky

Thanks for all the responses. I fell like I am on the right track.
Is it possible to notice eggs or juveniles pests with the naked eye?

Very hard to see with naked eye.
