I am doing quarantine on live rocks to get rid of unwanted hitchikers. Placed it in a large plastic container with salt water, but after 2 days, there is this white sticky stuff that looks like webbings on top of the water. I changed the water, and soon after(though not as much) - same thing.

Just curious and trying to learn more.

MANY THANKS!

Here. It is all over the water surface. I thought it could be from die-offs? Especially since the first few days, the water/rocks became very stinky.
