What is this and will anything eat it.

Its been in my tank for 8 months. Not growing much. I prune it but has only been fairly isolated. Nothing eats it. Nothing kills it.

It looks like black feathers of sort. I can pull it off in clumps but some always stays on rock. I am about to cut off the parts of rock with coral but before i do figured i would just ask around.

Looks like bryopsis algae to me.
