It’s stationary. Just a weird thick black line down the goniopora that doesn’t move.

Well, it looks like this black thing moves!! Can I please get some help to identify this? It’s now on my red goniopora, which is the first coral I ever got in the tank so it holds a special place in my tank.

Can someone identify what this is?!

Good question. Don’t think it’s cyano but I don’t really know.

I’m not sure if it’s moving, but this goniopora didn’t have the black things on them a few days ago.

I added some coral from an online vendor and just got some aptasia and whatever these black things are.

Blow gently with a turkey baster to dislodge what it may be or Move coral to a container of tank water and agitate it. Cyano will fall apart and a hitchhiker will will dislodge.
If its cyano, you want to look at your flow as there should be sufficient water flow to keep debris off the coral.

It didn’t fall apart, so probably not cyano. I have a microscope, I’ll try to take good magnified photos.

I had someone mention that this could be a polyclad flatworm. Any chance that this is what it could be? If so, what should I do about it? Thanks!

i was going to say flat worm with the first pics, but the ones where you've pulled them out doesnt look like it. Looks to be inanimate. A flat worm would wiggle and try to get away even in the dish or whatever you put it in. Id say if its not moving around out of the tank its probably not a flat worm.

Yep it's a strange one for sure! It doesn't wiggle and the one of my first goniopora hasn't moved. The issue is it's now on my second goniopora. I could try dipping the coral, but this is the first coral I added to the tank and don't want to stress the coral without due cause.

as suggested above try blowing it off with a turkey baster and do this occasionally during maintenance. Im thinking its some sort of bacteria or algae. The pics look like plant cells to me but im not a biologist.
