The spiral things in the photo have been on my hammer coral a few weeks, that I've noticed, and I don't have a clue what they are. Can someone tell me what's going on? Is it a parasite? Is it harmful? This hammer has not been opening up as full as it used to.

Vermedit snail. Filter feeder, most consider a pest and can reproduce pretty quickly. you can either scrape it off, or put superglue over the hole opening to kill it off

Take the frag out and cut them off with bone cutters. People curse them after a while and they spread everywhere.
