What is this on my rock?

Hello All,
Long time reader, first time post… Can anyone help me identify what this grey looking critter is on my rock? I first found it 4 days ago, then it moved over night and came back this morning and it’s back. Any help much appreciated. I just would like to know if it’s harmful or harmless. Thank you!

Thank you for writing! I just looked it up and it does look a lot like a Chiton. Not sure how I got it but it’s there. Sorry for the pics and lighting.
