What is this?

Hello

I have some new clove polyps and within about 1 week, the heads started opening up pretty well. Then they started have bulges coming from the side and these bulges grew longer (see pic). They are not at the base, but about 1/3 of the way up the stalk of the polyps.

What are they? Are they new polyps forming or are they runners, kind of like on plants, that are shooting out to grab rock and then the new polyps will sprout up out of those?

Yeah they are either new polyps or runners. Most likely the ladder.
