@vetteguy53081 can I have a little help here please, in your opinion is this a sponge ?
It’s ciliate poriferan sponge which can be evasive
Should peel off
If not. Take rock out and place in container of tank water and lift off with dental pick and discard

No, just can get evasive
Thanks and Yes it can! it’s absolutely thriving to the point where I may have to move all my corals to a holding tank to attempt eradicating it, it’s everywhere :/ never ever going to add a coral without a 2 month qt. I’m pretty sure it’s got to the point where it’s part of my nutrient export.

I also have this organism growing in the cryptic regions of my tank:

I am not sure if it is a sponge or not, though it really is something I would not be worried about and definitely never restart a tank over (from all that I have seen, sponges rarely become an issue, and I accept them as a part of a healthy tank ecosystem). This stuff has a pretty weak composition and lies low, so I would expect most grazing invertebrates to be capable of consuming this stuff (though I have never actually seen this happen).
Could this be a natural solution to my problem

While individuals from Hawaii probably do not exist in the trade, this species can be found outside Hawaii and makes its way into the aquarium trade (I am not sure if they can be found in the UK, though). Some may not be coral safe and people have reported them eating sponges, though they are generally sought after as they can eat algae.

Do you mean invasive?

Is there anything reef safe I can add to the tank to consume this sponge before I remove every coral and scrub the sponge off rinse and place into a holding tank ? I’m fed up of this invasion it’s an endless battle
