Astraea snails - good at GHA - will flip and need help righting themselves but worth it.
Blue or Red Leg Hermits - only crabs I trust and good for clean up but have plenty of extra shells as they will evict snails to get the shell. Get a dozen for a small tank.
Fighting Conch - just one will do - good sand stirrer
Nassarius Snails - good detritus - sand stirrer - get a bunch
Cerith Sails - glass cleaners - get about the same as Nassarius.

That's the basic. Of course they are "clean up" fish, urchins, cucumbers (advanced), pods (probably a good idea to add a jar or two early on). And creatures for specific problems (emerald crabs for bubble algae) but the basics will get you started.

Curious what I should get.
^ This but I would replace astraea snails with trochus as they will right themselves if they end up on their backs. As to my favorite, my tuxedo urchin, I don’t think it ever sleeps just keeps munching.

Trochus snails were neat to watch bulldoze through diatoms.

I went with a lot of tiny cleanup crew that can reproduce in the aquarium with the idea that they should be able to scale up and down in population to match food. Micro brittle stars, collonista snails and pods. Unclear yet if the first two worked but seeing the pods rapidly take over the aquarium and eat a ton of diatoms was really impressive.
