What is your PO4 readings in fresh salt water?

Hi

I just got a Hanna phosphorus URL checker. I was so surprised to see how high my levels were in my DT.

I decided to test my freshly mixed Red Sea salt blue bucket and found that it was 4 ppb phosphorus or 0.012 ppm PO4

The water for the saltwater mix was RODI with a TDS of zero.

Does that seem abnormal?

What are your levels?

Check your math on the conversion...1 ppb equals .001 ppb, 4 ppb would be .004 ppm.

Yes. Normal. Red sea salts contain nitrate and phosphates. The levels are posted on the bucket and you can do a batch ICP analysis on their website to see whats in your bucket

My math is as follower:

4ppb Phosphorous = 4 * 3.066 = 12.3ppb PO4 /1000 = 0.012ppm PO4
