Does anyone know what salt they used for this fluor supplement? I don’t want my iodide to rise by dosing this fluor supplement. Cheers!

I just got a reply from ATI and apparently is it potassium fluoride.

I recommend the sodium salt unless you are carefully tracking potassium. That raises potassium a lot more than fluoride.

Don't you get equal moles of F- as K+ ? And since there is 400 ppm of K+ in sea water and only 1.2 ppm fluoride, things would always die from fluoride overdose before K+ becomes an issue?

Potassium fluoride is 67% potassium and 33% fluoride by weight.

Fluoride is consumed by incorporation into calcium carbonate in place of some of the carbonate as it forms. Potassium is not.

Thus, fluoride depletes in any tank that has biological or nonbiological precipitation of calcium carbonate.

If you keep adding KF, and only F is being consumed, then K can rise.

WHAT KIND OF SUBSTRATE ARE YOU RUNNING ON YOUR TANK?
