I cannot grow cheato, but I am producing plenty of other algae with this light in the refugium. I have tried it on a few different settings with no success.

I currently run it 12 hours a day.

Some plants need a longer photo-period to go into a vegetative state. Right now it might be trying to flower.

Do some googling on Cheato, but in the meantime turn the light a bit more blue, reduce the intensity and run it 18-24 hours. The the macro algae is small, so it's possible to kill it with too much light.

Go 18 hours and more towards the red side of colors and use some iron or iron/manganese. Chaeto need iron for stability
