what the heck Is This Boney Thing?!?

This morning I was doing reef housekeeping. On the back side of a rock is this large, hard, boney growth which is very firmly attached to the rock. I’ve never seen anything like it. Thoughts?

Bivalves are awesome buddy. Leave 'em! Filter feeders, biodiversity, and wont harm anything.

Plus you can show friends n' fam outside the hobby how legit your tank is b/c it has clams (don't use the word bivalve, they may get a confused look on their faces )!
