I am in the process of doing my first reef tank and want to know what fish to add next and what soft corals to start adding.

About my tank. It’s 125g 6ft tank with two seachem (110g) hob filters filled with media, carbon and filter floss. My lighting is composed of three AI Prime HD lights and I run two heaters.

Live stock includes two bubble tip anemones, which have not been hosted by my two clowns. Three yellowtail damsels, mandarin, watchman goby, blue tang, a ruby longfin wrasse, two yellow wrasses and a flameback angel. All of these are small juveniles by the way.

My water levels are consistent, no ammonia, no nitrites and I run higher nitrates but seem to have no issues. I replace filter floss once a week and clean glass and turn sand at that time. Every two weeks is a quick 20 gallon water change.

I think I want to get my stocking level of fish under control first and then start adding corals. Is that thought process wrong? How many more fish could I do? What should I add next?

How old is your tank?
Do you have any idea on what fish or coral you are wanting to add?

It’s about 18 months old, had a complete crash and killed off all fish but the goby. Current fish are a few months old now.

Not sure what fish to add next, looking for suggestions.

Corals not sure what to add for the setup I have. I read that soft corals are easy and the same for Zoas. Can this work without protein skimmers and all the fancy equipment?
