I’ve been having an algae problem for quite sometime now. For the past few month I’ve been getting algae in my sand bed but I have no idea what type it is and was hoping someone can help me identify it. I contribute to suck it out the sand during water changes but it just continues to grow back

I believe that is diatoms. It can appear in new tanks and established tank as well. Keep up your water changes and light sand bed cleaning and it will go away when your aquarium balance out.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
